Building an EU sovereign cloud landing zone for a Rockstars customer.

Designing and building an EU-based sovereign landing zone, keeping data, infrastructure and critical technology under EU jurisdiction (GDPR, NIS2).
Covering both the technical foundation (private connectivity, DNS, IAM, storage, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL) and the DevOps chain around it (CI/CD, GitOps, observability, security controls).
Developing migration and recovery methods that give critical services a route onto European infrastructure, with demonstrable failover, rollback and restore.

Nov 2024 to Jun 2026

Observability Engineer (SRE), Den Bosch

Built the observability platform used by every engineering team in the organisation.

Consolidated three observability backends (Splunk, Dynatrace, CloudWatch) onto New Relic, removing vendor duplication and improving contract leverage.
Hardened the organisation-wide OpenTelemetry collector with the team, adding autoscaling on signal ingestion so the single ingestion point held under load.
Shipped a shared AWS CDK construct with OpenTelemetry built in, giving roughly half of all backend engineers working observability with no extra effort.
Migrated 15+ teams from passive log shipping to intentional observability, changing what teams monitor rather than how much they ship.
Built an observability maturity framework, ran team intakes, and delivered hands-on OpenTelemetry and SLO workshops across ARTs.

Sep 2020 to Oct 2024

Cloud Engineer (SRE), Deventer

Scaled the Dutch national COVID-19 platform past a million appointments a day.

As its platform engineer, moved the platform from a managed service provider to AWS mid-pandemic without downtime, redesigning the architecture from Docker to auto-scaling cloud-native.
Migrated all databases and applications to ARM (Graviton), cutting compute cost by roughly 20% on average.
Rolled out Cloudsmith as the organisation-wide artifact platform for 15 teams and 500+ developers, with Terraform-automated onboarding, SSO and SCIM.

Jan 2023 to present

Infrastructure Co-Lead & Solutions Architect, Europe (remote), as a volunteer

Consolidated five cloud providers onto Scaleway, cutting infrastructure cost by 40%.

Co-authored the technical vision behind the consolidation and moved the applications off OVH, Hetzner and AWS.
Moved the whole Kubernetes environment from OVH to Scaleway in one week in late 2025, with the same manifests and tooling, restoring the databases point-in-time from backups during the move.
Migrated around 35 applications onto a single unified Kubernetes cluster.
Introduced Logto as the first identity provider for all 38,000 members, with 2FA, and drove SSO/SCIM adoption across GitLab, Antragsgruen, Zammad and the CRM.
Contributed upstream to Antragsgruen as an open-source maintainer: a generic SSO plugin, twelve-factor app support and OpenTelemetry instrumentation, all merged.
